Ok, I have become completely enthralled by one of the newest SY albums Rather Ripped. As a course of music literacy i've listened sporadically to a few SY albums. Ive skipped around from Daydream Nation to the rather recent Sonic Nurse, album art work fantastic! Back to Murry Street and then to Goo. Recently though i've come upon Rather Ripped a much more accessible SY album.
It's a less experimental album, there are only two songs that break the six min barrier. It feels like Sonic Youth does "pop" but, it comes out well. The guitars are simpler, and melodic. Not as focused on noise, and effects. Kim Gordon's vocals add that unsettling layer that complement the tracks nicely. The album tends to lag in the second half, but don't be discouraged this is a great album.

Back at school, getting into the grind. Em and i haven't spoken in a few days. It would be stranger if it didn't happen so often. We'll see what happens with school and social.
