It's been a busy few days, strangely. It all started on Sunday when i cleaned the crap out of the appt. It may have been the hanging smell of a pan fried steak from some early morning hour that was the spark for this trend of cleanliness, but whatever the cause it was sorely needed. It looks better now. Had dinner with emily and grace that night, did some reading for class and then went to bed.
Monday was an absolute show. I told grace that i would drive her around to random rescue squads to see if she could volunteer. So i did that in the morning. Then came the matter of fixing my bike. A link in my new 70 bone chain bowed out, what a load, and the back tire tube had a slow leak. So monday morning, and early afternoon were dedicated to bike maintenance and motoring. It was interesting driving with a freaking out grace. After that went to classes, got into a bike accident, and filmed my first TV project in a few years. It's total crap. I'm going to re-shoot tomorrow...
Today wasn't as bad. I'm just missing out on my usual after practice nap. It's taking it's toll. Little zoned out in class most of the time. I spent an hour fifteen this morning coloring in all the open spaces in the letters on this hand out. Tried to edit my project to see if i could make it work. Linear editing is the worst system. I hate it. Pretty much did megans project for her. In the process, though, i did meet her roommate katey who's major cool.
I have become recently obsessed with the Breeders. A kinda of off-shoot of the pixies but not really. Just listen to Pod, and Last Splash. I was expecting a more pixie-esque sound, but what i got is an eclectic mix. Some track sound like MBV turned a little down with stronger vocals, and others have a folksy southwestern ballad feel. It's good early 90's music.
TMC had some great movies on this past saturday. I watched Gunga Din and Lawrence of Arabia. Lawrence still amazes me. Just the shot compositions in the film alone make it worth while. My favorite is when Lawrence has gone back into the desert for Gahsan, and one of the Lawrence's "servants" is waiting of the desert fringe. You'll know it when you see it. It's too perfect.
